Sanatan is published by Uptrail. By installing and using Sanatan, you agree to these terms and to Apple's standard End User License Agreement, which governs the iOS app itself.
Sanatan is a personal study and reference companion for Hindu scripture. It runs on your iPhone and iPad. It is not a religious authority, not a teacher, and not a source of spiritual rulings or personal advice. The texts are sourced and attributed for learning. You are responsible for how you study and apply what you read.
Curated comparison passages use named, dated, public-domain works (e.g. Telang 1882, Edwin Arnold 1885, Max Müller 1879/1884, Swami Vivekananda 1896), each attributed on the verse and in the in-app Sources & Editions screen. The complete Gita baseline is bundled from an MIT-licensed open-source scripture dataset and attributed in Sources & Editions. We do not assert that any one tradition's reading is “correct,” and we do not reproduce in-copyright translations.
The complete Bhagavad Gita is free to read. Sanatan Pro is an auto-renewing subscription at $9.99/month or $59.99/year that unlocks side-by-side translation comparison, the Upanishad and Yoga Sutra study sets, cross-scripture themes, and unlimited bookmarks and notes.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.
Sanatan is provided “as is” with no warranty. We take real care with the accuracy of the texts, but make no guarantee of completeness or fitness for any particular scholarly or religious purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Uptrail's total liability for any claim related to Sanatan is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the prior twelve months.
We may update these terms when we ship new features. Material changes will be summarized in the app's release notes.
