Privacy Policy

Sanatan is a local-first iOS app. The scripture texts are bundled in the app and read entirely offline — most users will never touch our servers. Here is exactly what we collect, why, and what we never do.

What we collect

• Nothing by default. Your bookmarks, study notes, and reading position live in SwiftData on your device. We do not see them, sync them, or log them.
• App Store purchase state. If you subscribe to Sanatan Pro, Apple tells your device “this Apple ID is entitled.” We never see your card details, name, or email.

What we never do

• No third-party analytics SDKs (no Mixpanel / Amplitude / Firebase / PostHog).
• No advertising SDKs, no ad networks.
• No crash-reporting SDKs (we use Apple's built-in MetricKit only).
• No data brokers, no selling, no sharing, no “anonymized aggregate” reselling.
• No AI processing of your data — there is no chatbot and nothing is sent to any model.

The scripture texts

All texts and translations are bundled in the app and read offline. Reading, searching, bookmarking, and comparing translations require no network connection and send no data anywhere.

Third-party services we DO touch

• Apple App Store. Processes your Sanatan Pro subscription. We see a transaction identifier; never your card. Apple's policy applies.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes every bookmark, note, and reading position on your device.

Children

Sanatan is suitable for ages 4+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone — adult or child — because we do not collect data at all by default.
